Day 6 - Where are the monks ?

In Cumberland the current library stands on the site of what was an old monastery. Most of the monastery burnt down, but a few of the buildings still stand, and the library has been added on to one of the remaining buildings.

I took this picture outside of a sort of gate house. It was bitterly cold and windy, but I like how the sunset reflects in the panes and gives some warmth to an otherwise very stark and stolid stone wall. I had other pictures but they were a bit blurry and crooked unfortunately.

It's a great place to read, and hiking trails surround the property.

Day 5 - Criss Cross

A picture of an almost empty section of escalators at the Providence Place Mall.

It was a rather busy day there with people going to and fro, I managed to grab a serene section of their dizzying array of escalators , if not for the one person just about to enter. So the peacefulness of the scene was disturbed by the one shopper who jumped in the frame just a bit too soon.

All in all a quiet day of pictures, I hadn't much time, or I would have come up with a colorful concoction of capitalism inside one of the many colorful stores here.

Save for another day.

Day 4 - Cluck, Cluck!!

Off for dinner at Wright's farm. In the front entrance stands this silly little machine that looks like it has been sitting there for the past 50 years. Children put in a quarter and the chicken clucks and moves and drops and egg containing a prize down a chute. Bringing smiles to all those little faces.

To me this is a kind of creepy looking chicken. It almosts looks as if she's made out of chocolate. I took another shot with all the writing and such but the close up is a little more enveloping and gives you that kind of being right inside the carnival....

Dinner at Wright's was nice...

Day 3 - coming soon.....

Well the time is getting closer that the baby will be here. So we needed to pick up his travel system.

This is from the baby registry area, where I was waiting as Michelle asked a few questions. I can look back later and remember what we were doing that day and who it was for !

Such a bold lettered sign, if I look at it too long it doesn't like like a real word anymore....

Day 2 - Frost

On to the next day. I didn't take too many pictures after I took this and one other that day. I know it's blurry, and not quite clear what is going on. This is a shot I took through my work car's frosted windshield on my way to work. I think the blurry shapes of the trees through the ice crystals was a unique shot . To me it feels very cold but peaceful .

Day 1

Ok, start of the photos, I started on Christmas so I figure what better than to put a picture of something having to do with the festivities.

I still need to get better at taking indoor pictures and the lighting effects needed to make everything look just right with limited resources.

Each picture will be posted 1 day after it was taken in most instances.

Coming Soon - A 365 Day Photo Project

I'm planning to try and do a photo a day for a year starting on 12/25/08, until the following year. I've read of others trying this and doing this and having great results. Not only does this give you a catalog of pictures, events, that you participated in that year, it also can improve your photography skills. I hope I can create a great collection of photos for you to enjoy!!!!
