365/365 - 1 Year in Pictures Completed Today!

I did it, I've managed to complete the 365 Photo project and it feels so great that I was able to do it. It's been a long tough year with many ups and downs. I've been frustrated at times and had great ideas others, but all in all it was well worth the project. I'm starting a different one tomorrow believe it or not!

I shot this in the backyard today with a little help from my remote shutter, and a can of orange spraypaint!

...Celebrate , good times , come on!!!...

Day 364/365 - Let them know it's christmas time and .....

Twas 2 nights before Christmas and all through the house, Michelle, Brendon and CJ were sleeping, and I took this picture.. heh heh...

Simple shot of the wrapping paper tubes in the living room, it's good to keep this stuff around for years to come.

...feed the world, let them know it's Christmas time and.....

Day 363/365 - like a chica cherry cola.....

Had a little work party the other day and I couldn't find anything worthwhile to take a picture of, I snapped this closeup though and noticed myself in the bottle reflection.

Simple using my prime lense, handheld outside sunlight streaming in through the window

...Ohh I want you I don't know if I need you but...

Day 362/365 - Living in a fisheye lens.....

I thought with only a few days left, I'd shoot a picture of some of the lenses I have been using this year, minus the 50mm prime which took the picture. Here they are, they aren't the best of lenses but they work well in my situations.

Used the 50mm with backlighting from lamp in living room. Handheld.

...caught in the camera eye...

Day 361/365 - Walkin' in a winter wonderland....

I thought this drift along the edge of my driveway looked so neat so I plopped into the snow and snapped a few shots... If I only hadn't disturbed the bottom part of the drift

Shot with the Tamron 200mm which is proving quite difficult the barrel is messed up. Still captured what I wanted though .

...sleigh bells ring, are you listen?.....

Day 360/365 - 'Cause I'm a real straight shooter, if you know what I mean.....

Spent way too much time trying to mount 2 doors in the house, both interior but working with the strange size openings and old hinges was a bit of a challenge. I noticed the tape measure lying around later and set up this shot.

I love the way I focused on a section of the measure and blurred everything else. You know what it is but can only see a portion of it

....Baby are you holding, holding anything but me?....

Day 359/365 - There may be, a little dust on the bottle.... (PC Series 5)

Last day of the pc series, I'm out of ideas. I did like the way the pc screen reflected through this glass bottle so that's why I used this as the last in the series.

Shot with prime lenses through the bottle to the monitor in the background, I like the colors and the way it's blurred

....but don't let it fool ya about what's inside....

Day 358/365 - I've got (files) , They're multiplyiin'.... (PC Series 4)

Ahhhh, so many files to put back on the computer from the backup drive, they are going , slowly as it my be. I didn't realized I had that many files to copy , wow...

Not a great shot, but wanted something for this ongoing series this week. It captures the moment however

..and I'm losin control....

Day 357/365 - Alright I'm Ready Make me glow, glow, glow, glow..... (PC Series 3)

Left the room after turning on the backlit keys of the keyboard and thought a perfect shot for the 3rd day of the PC upgrade series. I may have taken one of this before this year, I don't remember anymore...

Used the tripod to capture a clear shot of the keys from above

...How far can you go
Make me glow, glow, glow, glow....

Day 356/365 - Only you, can make this world seem right... (PC Series 2)

Second day of preparation for the upgrade. I had this hard drive in a box for so long it was waiting to be used inside this along with my 3 350GBs already inside. This one is for the media files

Simple closeup shot using the desk lamp for lighting

...only you can make the darkness bright....

Day 355/365 - Start me up.... (PC Series 1)

Back when windows 95 launched they started a campaign with the Rolling Stones them song, I don't know what they used for this launch but here is the start of my computer installation week, decided to upgrade the beast to the latest OS.

I love the way the disc reflected the colors in this shot.

...start me up , i'll never stop....

Day 354/365 - You better watch out, you better not cry....

Taken some pictures of the baby in his Christmas outfit. He looks so funny and cute in this thing. The little bugger wouldn't sit still for long to grasp a picture, but I thought this one was fitting in front of the fireplace.

Used the flash so I could get him in case he moved, no other lighting set up.

...you better not pout I'm tellin' you why....

Day 353/365 - 'Cause I'm a real straight shooter, if you know what I mean...

This was at Rob's 40th birthday party on Saturday and I thought I'd try a few shots from the people playing pool. Here is his cousin' Sarah lining up a shot.

Nice shot with the field of depth in the foreground and the blurred background

....'Cause I'm a real straight shooter, if you know what I mean...

Day 352/365 - I really can’t stay (Baby, it’s cold outside).....

Taken behind the Dave's Market in Smithfield, RI. It has gotten very cold out recently the start of winter of course. I had been cooped up at home for most of the week due to being sick so after taking pictures of nothing much inside, I needed something different.

I think this picture captures the starkness of the landscape very nicely

....I’ve got to go ‘way (Baby, it’s cold outside)....

Day 351/365 - There's a (moon out tonight) whoa-oh-oh ooh....

By the glow of the moon , I mean computer screen Michelle is engaged in some Facebooking or gaming activity. She seemed not to be perturbed by my incessant camera pointing at her, 3rd day of being home she's so supportive of my suffering... right ? :)

... I liked the shadows and the glow this shot from this angle created...

...There's a (girl in my heart) whoa-oh-oh ooh....

Day 350/365 - And it seemed to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind...

2nd day of misery I was grasping at straws for pictures since I wasn't leaving the house, this had to do. It's a tall candle and some asian canister set on the countertop by the sink outside our bathroom.

Taken at a kneeling position, countertop level...

....Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in.....

Day 349/365 - The nighttime sniffling sneezing coughing aching stuffy head fever.....

I got sick last week with a horrible stomach bug that I probably picked up from the baby, I almost didn't get a picture in this day or the next , I needed something and this is what I saw , no energy to do much ...

not the greatest shot but since I wasn't in the greatest of moods it had to do..

...so you can rest medicine...

Day 348/365 - Missing post from 3/12/09 - Double Oops!

And here is the other lost post! I always wanted to drive one of these things at least to try it out and feel the power behind that machine.. ha ha...

Now I'm caught up on numbering and can end on the right day I wanted too!! :) Yay...

Thanks honey!!

Day 347/365 - Missed Post from 2/2/09

I am coming to the end of this years project and noticed something was off on my count, I didn't post 2 pictures 2 different times this year , they were taken, just not posted so my numbering got messed up!!!

Thanks Michelle for helping find these, don't know what I would have done without ya!!!

No song here, I'm too ashamed... :)

Day 346/365 - Made of Snow, I don't know how I fit in. Ever Cold, Love untold, I don't fit in....

I was asked to take some photos of Michelle's friend Jenn's kids for Christmas. It didn't quite work out the way I wanted with all the lighting and the fact that these 2 cuties can't sit still for more than a moment. I tried my best and capture a few good ones, I hope she likes them. This one is one of the neat pictures, she isn't using for a card, BUT it came out rather cool.

...Button Eyes, lullabies, I don't fit in.
Made of snow, I don't know how I fit in.....

Day 345/365 - Red light, yellow light, green light go.....

Tried something different with the christmas lights and didn't quite get what I was going for but I am posting it anyway it's an interestingly simple shot to say the least.... I've been a bit tired this past week and not a lot of photo ops either... Almost there and on to the next project... hmmmm

....Crazy little woman in a one man show ....

Day 344/365 - Frosty the snow man......

This is part of a small village of have setup on the back shelf in the great room. I like the lights hidden under the fake snow , I took several shots trying to get one close up on the action and just the right feeling, this one will have to do.

... was a jolly happy soul...

Day 343/365 - I can see clearly now, the rain is gone....

Taken a picture of the teddybear dog I ended up with the other day I noticed my little bugger sneaking up behind to pull him off the couch. If you look under the ear you can see my little guys face just out of focus. I couldn't resist not using this one for the baby series #5, he's in there..

Neat shot, focused on the foreground so dog is out of focus as well as baby but neat result.

...He can see all obstacles in his way....

Day 342/365 - What you lookin' at ....

Ahh 4th in a Series of babypics. Here he sits on the floor very interested in something out of the frame. It looks like he was disturbed and about to say, how dare you interrupt my photo session with Daddy

..love the softness of the shot and the lighting...

...Willis ? ....

Day 341/365 - Sleep, baby, sleep, Down where the woodbines creep....

3rd in a series of baby pics, love the orange hat and brown gloves and the quietness of the moment. He looks so relaxed here.

Taken with prime lense in a dimly lit room , got the lighting I wanted and the softness of the photo as well.

...Be always like the lamb so mild
A kind, and sweet, and gentle child...

Day 340/365 - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....

Wow, great decorations on this house. I could see it from the main street everytime I headed home from work, so I finally turned down the street to get a closer look. What a great job they did, it looks better in person..

Had to adjust the shutter speeds and white balance a bit to capture enough of the lights and background, nice shot overall I thought

...everywhere you go.....

Day 339/365 - I am chicken, hear me squawk Hear me crow and hear me bawk ....

What we had for dinner sometime last week, a little chicken cooked with some tasty flavors, some thyme, some chives, some garlic, a little lime, a little orange juice, a little sugar... some paprika, a little strange but a bit tasty ...

point and shoot, time to eat

...I'm nutritious, I am pure, I'm delicious.... I am CHICKEN!!....

Day 338/365 - While the boys chew lego....

Second picture of the little guy playing with his bag o' blocks. He likes eating and throwing these things around, also likes pulling apart whatever I have made for him...

Love the colors in this shot, while it's not such a clean shot, backgroung etc, it captures the moment quite right...

...So now we can't build castles for robots Because the pieces won't fit together....

Day 337/365 - This is the way we brush our teeth....

Teaching the baby how to brush his teeth, he actually cried when we tried to take the thing away from him, must like that minty fresh flavor! So cute, this starts a weeklong pictures (almost) of Brendon, he was just too cute to pass them up...

taken with my prime lense and flash

....brush our teeth, BRUSH our teeth....

Day 336/365 - Rockin' around the Christmas tree....

We set up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving, took my old prelit minilight tree and removed those and replaced them with 630 colored LED lights! The funny thing is these lights are using 75% less energy so equivalent to only around 150 regular lights :) We all need that savings in this economy....

I liked the way the lighting came out in this one... captures the colors of the tree quite nicely, this was taken pre-ornament.

....at the Christmas party hop..

Day 335/365 - White meat dark meat you just can't lose.....

Thanksgiving morning had to go out and pick up a few last minute items at the only store open in the area. Well on my way there and back I saw 20 turkeys chilling in the front yard of a house on the corner down the street from mine, I thought there's my daily picture, so hear it is...

Adjusted the white balance and shutter speed to cpature the warm colors of the woods and the browns of the turkeys otherwise they were bluish tinted from the gray skys....

....Thanksgiving, is a special time... Jimmy Walker, used to say Dynomite!!!....

Day 334/365 - You don't bring me flowers.....

I was told I need to bring home some flowers for Michelle by some people on the cruise we were on, long story but they got to hear some intimate questions and answers in the newlywed game we played, was fun

I don't typically like too many of the closeup flower shots since they seem to be overdone yet I do take them from time to time if I'm inspired. Another macro shot focused on the flowers on the left...

....anymore.....

Day 333/365 - You say po-tay-to....

It is getting close to turkey day here and I had just brought home a bag of red potatoes I thought I'd try and get a closeup shot of these before they were all eaten.. mmm mmm good...

Simple macro shot with my 50mm prime lense...

... I say po-tah-to.....

Day 332/365 - When I pass by all the people say.....

Driving home from work the other night I thought I'd try and get some shots in the dark with the glow of the tail lights in front of me.

Neat shot taken out the side window, I didn't think it would come out as good as it did....

.....just another guy on the lost highway...

Day 331/365 - Come, Mister tally man, tally me banana.....

...daylight come and me wan' go home...

Day 330/365 - In a crooked little town, they were lost and never found....

CJ and his pal Wyatt dove into the huge pile of leaves in our front yard. We raked for about 3 hours and still only put a small dent in the amount of leaves in our yard. I think I need a dump truck to get rid of all these things. I think I should warn the kids to get out of the pile first though, huh ? Ok....

...fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves on the ground.....

Day 329/365 - Put on your little red coat and come out with me tonight.....

I snapped a few quick pictures this day and thought they came out better than they did. I tried metering off the bright light which caused too quick of a shutter speed and all of the coats look red in the picture. One of them is an orange one and others are different shades of red. I didn't quite achieve what I was trying here...

...our love is all she wrote
they said to hold me tight
the Weasel and the Stoat
will not forget to bite
but you are at my throat
and we'll make it through alright....

Day 328/365 - Can you hear me now Elmo ?

Brendon now has his own cell phone. When he is not chewing on it, he loves pressing the buttons and hearing Elmo count ouf the numbers, I wish my phone had Elmo talking to me too...

... la la la la, la la la la Elmo's World.....

Day 327/365 - Cold turkey has got me on the run.....

Strange picture perhaps but I love the way it came out. Just a bit of ground turkey getting ready to be cooked into a wonderful meal of sloppy joes. It tastes the same as ground beef once you add all the seasoning in. I really like the color and texture of this photo, came out the way I wanted.

...Cold turkey has got me on the run....

Day 326/365 - I'll never beat the view From my front porch looking in....

There's a brown haired top who can barely walk with a sippy cup of milk...

Took this picture after a long day at work and I really needed something for the day. I see this view everyday but you don't think much about until you see it in a picture. We gotta change that storm door one of these days....

...Nothing takes my breath away
Like my front porch looking in...

Day 325/365 - What a feeling, bein's believin'.....

I can just hear the flashdance song playing in the back of my head as we are exercising on the floor of our great room. Started a fitness program and we are off to a great start. I picked up 2 of these exercise balls one my size and one for Michelle as well. Just doing a little arranging here for the photo...

...Take your passion, and make it happen.....

Day 324/365 - Cause baby love, my baby love....

Somebody was happy to see us when we got in the night before, we were away for 11 days which must have seemed like an eternity for the little guy. Tough snapping pictures of him, the bugger won't sit still for me, too busy playin'... :)

...been missing ya, miss kissing ya....

Day 323/365 (Honeymoon Series) - Now I love pigeons, and I love how they walk. And I've invented a really cool dance called......

Sitting and sitting , we sat for around 8 hours at the airport waiting for our flight. There were no earlier flights that day that we could get on so there was nothing to do exept wait it out, which sucked, this bird apparently had nothing better to do either. The picture is blurry but I captured what I wanted otherwise..

....Doin' the pigeon
Doin' the pigeon...

Day 322/365 (Honeymoon Series) - Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me....

We went and saw a culinary show in the Princess Theater and afterward were treated to a tour of one of the many kitchens on board the ship. At the end of the walk through they had a table displayed with many artistically displayed food items. Here you see an entire sailing vessel made out of bread, some sort of hard bread mixture, in the background is a bouquet of roses carved out of turnips.. Very cool, the galley tour otherwise was dumb...

...Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho....

Day 321/365 (Honeymoon Series) - You said our love was like a bonsai tree And of course, you were right....

Here I took a few pictures outside of the Lotus Spa as I waited for Michelle to finish her full body massage she was getting and well deserved after her rough day at the beach the other day. I spent some time in the pool while she did her thing there and I know she enjoyed because she came out feeling so relaxed and all smiles!!!

...Oh, that's why, darling, it's a tragedy
To find me drawing bonsai trees tonight.....

Day 320/365 (Honeymoon Series) - There was a fair maid and she lived alll alone....

After yesterday's debacle the two of us didn't really want to venture into the water, Michelle had got sand and salt water in her eyes and they were still bothering her today and for days after. The safari tour driver even let her sit in the front of the car with him so she could keep the wind out of her eyes. Here is the winding down part of our tour where we had a few hours at the beach, I walked in a bit and the undertown was insane, so very pretty to look at though, the scenery is so unbelievable here....

....she lived all alone on the shore....

Day 319/365 (Honeymoon Series) - Oh I swear over and over It's you like a wave into me.....

On the beautiful island of St. Lucia , it was supposed to be a fun at the beach day, however the beach they brought us to was terrible, a short section of steep shoreline behind some resort. The waves got so big that one walloped half of the people in the water , knocked me under and hit my head against the sand, got up and out of the water. The red flags were flying but nobody told us about them. The water was pretty , just really dangerous that day. You can see our new friends Jeff and Carla in the water here...

...When you come crash into me baby
Please come crash into me ...

Day 318/365 (Honeymoon Series) - Shock the monkey to life....

on Barbados we signed up for a monkey encounter where we got a chance to see monkeys in the wild, and in a lucky chance Michelle got a chance to feed them, check for pictures on Facebook!! They'll be there soon... I used this picture for my dail because of the artistic look of it and I just thought the clarity was superb!

...Wheels keep turning
Something's burning
Don't like it but I guess I'm learning

Shock! - watch the monkey get hurt, monkey.....

Day 317/365 (Honeymoon Series) - Southern trees bear strange fruit....

Here on the island of St. Kitts we took an off the beat path tour of the island. We got to see so many cool vegetation growing, papayas, mangoes, star fruit, and many many more, our tour guide stopped in a nice scenic area and prepared for us a snack of some of the local fruits and treats and of course some rum punch. Pictuers is some Sour Sap (prickly pear we call it I think), some Sugar Bread, and some Coconut breat. We also had some green oranges and some Golden apples, and some sugar cane, what a great way to sample the local flavors.

....Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.....
