Day 243/365 - The long and winding road That leads to your door.....

I was driving back from Sturbridge when I noticed my rear passenger door was slightly ajar, so I pulled onto the next street I saw which is what you see here. Some winding road that leads to some sort of Nature Preserve, it looked deserted, not a car in site, hmm , peaceful at least...

Just looked up and down the road and snapped a few shots....

...Will never disappear
Ive seen that road before....
(Beatles)

Day 242/365 - Give me fuel, give me fire.....

Wonder what I was doing in this picture ? Hmmm, using electronic devices near the fuel pump, tsk tsk.

I like the bright colors in this shot. you can even see how much I was up to in $ at the time and those numbers were cranking fast, good speed on the camera....

...give me that what I desire....

(Metallica)

Day 241/365 - The teacher said I had my head in the clouds....

The last few days of this heat wave we've been having have loaded up the sky with huge cumulus clouds. Here are just a few samples of what we have been seeing, so amazing, wish I could just jump around in those things....

Long range , used the telephoto to get this, stupid tree branch jumped into my shot somehow, post editing can take care of that though ...

...I've got my feet in the clouds, got my head on the ground...
(Paul McCartney)

Day 240/365 - well there's food around the corner , food around the corner....

We decided this week to try and plan our meals for the week, this was the first night, mushroom covered chicken thighs, peas and mashed potatoes, simple to start off , they get harder as the week goes on. A lot of slowcooker stuff.

I like the clarity of all three things on the plate, came out decent for the boring shot it is... Good food though!!!

....food around the corner for ME!....

Day 239/365 - Die Drei Musketiere!!....

Here is my nephew, sister-in-law and her friend who were visiting my ex Angi, they live in Berlin, Germany and came to see her and wanted to see us too. We went out for Chinese food in Reading, it was pretty good.

Sunlight directly behind me, very clear picture, the .arw version is even better....

...Einer fuer Alle!!.....
(One for all!)

Day 238/365 - You light up my life You give me hope To carry on .....

At Michelle's Pepe's 85th birthday we surprise him by showing up at Wright's Farm where he was expecting a few people , not 15. I needed a picture for the day and I liked the look of these chandeliers, so I took a few shots.

I like the lens flares in there actually, I went for this one that was dimly lit background with the bright bulbs, gives off the right amount of ambience

....You light up my days
and fill my nights with song ....
(Debbie Boone)

Day 237/365 - Over the river and through the woods....

A slow day , it was late I needed a picture of something so I tried a macro shot of this ceramic log cabin I have next to all my hiking books.

I used the lamp for lighting by tilting it slightly to let more in for the camera .

...to grandmother's house we go....

Day 236/365 - In the jungle, the mighty jungle....

Dropping off some books on cd at the library I drove around the back to head out and home and I noticed this sign. I didn't know we had wild CATS here. Something tells me it said something else under the giant CATS posted on there, I thought it amusing so I snapped a photo.

A simple shot of the day for me, nothing special but I like it for some reason.

...the lion sleeps tonight....

Day 235/365 - Not to put too fine a point on it Say Im the only bee in your bonnet....

I stopped by this place that I thought was a nature place that sold garden things since the outside is decorated so nicely by a large manmade pond. I was mistaken, it's a sort of antique furniture place with a Filene's basement approcah of automatic markdowns on things after a certain date. Interesting...

Here is a small little birdhouse hanging by a tree near the pond I mentioned. I like the colors and shadows in this shot....

...make a little birdhouse in your soul....

Day 234/365 - I scream, you scream, they all wait for.....

Wow was it hot the other night. We took the kids to the Ice Cream Machine in Cumberland and I expected a long line and there was. We got there just in time to avoid a long wait though.

2 in a row of night shots, wow, this one was tougher as the people kept moving and I kept the shutter open a teeny bit longer than normal to get some light in the lense. Not a bad attempt. It captures the hot summer moment I believe...

.... ICE CREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!....

Day 233/365 - It's a good time, for the great taste....

Another attempt at some night shots, this one from across the parking lot. I don't like McDonald's , well I do, but I don't eat there because it's so bad for you, even if it tastes good, I go only once a year.... Anyways.....

Like I said an attempt at some night shots...

...of McDonalds......

Day 231/365 - Lets go surfin now Everybodys learning how....

I stopped by the toll office before getting on the Newport bridge to find out about a fast pass. Well across the street is a little beach that looked perfect for some shots for the day, I took a number of them and chose this as the picture for the day...

Put the camera close to the water and snapped a few different angles, I like the stillness of the foreground water...

...Come on and safari with me
(come on and safari with..).....

Day 230/365 - Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned? Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?.....

I picked up these permanent color markers at BJs the other day because I thought they'd do a great job of inking some of my doodles. I think they work great, they aren't meant for large art projects but the type of things are draw are quite small typically post-it note size so these work out well, now if the tips were a little bit finer I'd be all set...

Nice closeup shot using the background lighting positioned just right to get the shot I wanted.

...Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?....

Day 229/365 - osie and the Pussycats Long tails and and ears for hats .....

Well here's a big ol' bunch of cuddly furry love looking up at the camera. Leo loves to roll around on the floor and lie there with his paws up in the air. He asked where is his next shot in the big ol' 365 project , so here it is.

I like the lighting and the fact I was able to snap the shot handheld without flash with just a little shutter delay to allow for more light.

...Guitars and sharps and flats
Neat, sweet, a groovy song
You're invited, come along......

Day 228/365 - Blue, blue, my world is blue....

I wanted to get a new self portrait this month and I had some some neat things online, so I tried for a half-hour or more to get something different. This is one of the best I could come up with.

It's ok, but blurry in normal size, the smaller size makes it look quite interesting and I like the blue reflection off of my face, I didn't like getting up and down 50 times to check on my progress.

....Blue is my world now I'm without you....
(Frank Sinatra)

Day 227/365 - They was a-splishin' and a'splashin'....

Brendon's first trip to the beach. He had an absolute blast there, loved the water so much, kept opening his mouth and trying to drink the whole lake. So cute, Here is Mom and baby kickin back in the water looking at crazy daddy as he venture into the water with his camera.

Lot's of good shots, didn't know which one to use, but I like this one the best....

....Reelin' with the feelin', movin' and a'groovin'....
(Bobby Darin)

Day 225/365 - Who's that kid with the Oreo cookie?....

Ahhh who can resist such a tasty treat as some oreos and milk, not me. I eat healthy a LOT but I can't resist the delicious taste of an oreo cookie and some milk, it's my achilles heel I suppose, lol, sure.......

Nice closeup shot of my treat the other night, I like the lighting reflecting off the milk and the dark background.

...Crunching all the crunchy chocolate, licking all of the creamy middle. There he is with his friends and O-R-E-O.....

Day 225/365 - In a carnival, of sights to see......

Went to the Cumberland fest last Friday night with Michelle, Brendon and her friend Jamie. It was packed with people walking around eating, playing carnival games and riding the rides and the vendors with their goodies there as well. Brendon had the best time just looking at everything, wide awake until the fireworks were going off right above us, THEN he falls asleep. He was quiet the whole night..

I took lots of shots and couldn't decide on which to use, but I wanted to use one that showed the carnival sites at their finest so here is a bit of that, shutter held open a few seconds longer to capture as much light as possible without making it too blurry...

....All the cheap thrill seekers vendors and the dealers They crowded around me....
(Natalie Merchant)

Day 224/365 - Faster than the speeding light she's flying..

I wasn't expecting much from this picture as I held the camera up as we were driving. usually I end up with just a blur of headlights and not much else, in this case I got a bit more, It actually looks as if we are travelling really fast as I managed to keep the camera still enough to keep the same lane dividers in the shot, so while a bit blurry it came out pretty neat I thought....

...quicker than a ray of light, quicker than a ray of light...

Day 223/365 - mirror, mirror, on the wall...

Stopped by this little park area on the way home last week, I took a few shots at the spot where some guys were fishing, at the tennis courts etc, I liked this shot the best, along side the bridge.

I like the reflections of the clouds in the water, the sky above got a bit too washed out though...

..who's the fairest one of all...

Day 222/365 - I'm a little bit country And I'm a little bit rock 'n roll.....

I always drive by this place on the side of route 6 not long after getting into RI . I finally managed to stop and take a look around both outside and in. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to take pictures inside, but I snuck a few anyway. They knew I had the camera I didn't hide that, just kept it over my shoulder.

I actually snapped this shot without looking through the viewfinder and liked the look. It's a typical country store. A bit overpriced I thought.

....I'm a little bit of Memphis and Nashville With a little bit of Motown in my soul

Day 221/365 - Don't let the sun go down on me Although I search myself, it's always someone else I see......

I was trying to get some sort of picture outside yesterday and since I can't get any clear views of the sun from here, this is what I got. Through the trees you can see the sun on it's way down.

It cast a nice orange glow on the leaves but not enough to capture the real moment, we live in the wrong area for getting any dramatic sunsets. I'd have to drive out to the parks perhaps and try there...

...I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free But losing everything is like the sun going down on me....

Day 220/365 - Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony....

Took the keyboard out to play some songs for Brendon, he loves when I play. I also love playing once in a while, but it's been a long while so I'm playing it again for a bit. I sound like I'm rambling there.

Nice shot down the length of the keyboard, the front keys in somewhat clarity and a neat reflection off of the black keys.

...Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh lord, why dont we?....

Day 219/365 - Hi ho, Hi ho It's home from work we go....

What to do when it's late at night and you haven't taken a picture yet, look around at the first thing you see and voila... No , not really, but I thought this may make a different shot for the day.

I do love the colors in this and the lighting came out descent for holding the camera to prevent blur as much as possible and get the natural room light.

...(whistles)
Hi ho, Hi ho
(more whistles)...

Day 218/365 - brown eggs, are local eggs, and local eggs are...

I had to use one of my pics from Michelle's dad for this day. It was his 50th birthday party and there were at least 50 people there all to surprise him! It was a great time of desserts and wine and golf themed presents. Here he opens a dozen "eggs". They were actually decorated golfballs from a few of his nephews, how cute.

I don't like the flash in this shot , too much reflection, damn that no hair!

.... fresh.... Happy Birthday !!!

Day 217/365 - swimming, swimming, just keep swimming...

Nothing today just these two guys at the bottom of the baby's bathtub, reminded me of Finding nemo a bit. Well there they are, Brendon really loves the Octopus.

Neat shot , reflected some bright bathroom lights...

...P. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney....

Day 216/365 - How many times must a man look up Before he can see the sky?.....

Nothing feels better than having the fan blowin cool air on you when it's 85 degrees outside at 8pm. It's been hot this past week and we don't have any Central AC or windows that we can put a air conditioner in, they are all those casement crank open ones......

I thought this was a unique view on the fan....It fades away into the distance taking it from this angle..

...the answer my friend, is blowin in the wind....

(Bob Dylan)

Day 215/365 - Then we slide over to Gucci Right before we go for sushi....

Ok no Gucci really it's a song .. Well I got to have a lot of great sushi on my birthday! Michelle, CJ and Brendon and I went to Jackie's in Cumberland that night and I got all the sushi I could want for a little while . I asked for 1 Wasabi Tobiko and one normal just so I could down one of each of the delectable pieces, that Wasabi gave me a kick in the...... I ended up trying hokkigai (surf clam) after the waitress misheard me asking for hotategai (sea scallop). She fixed it for me though. I even got a birthday cake at the end of our meal! Thanks honey!!

...It's a business doing pleasure, a business doing pleasure with you.....

Day 214/365 - Sweet days of summer, the jasmine's in bloom.....

I was looking for a gas station on the way back from Connecticut and took the Groton exit, I drove down a narrow street which wasn't leading me near any station and pulled over after seeing this view. The green grass of summer on the water with the bridge in the background, what a nice spot to take in a breath of fresh air. I never found the gas station until I got back onto 95N.

Nice shot low taken crouched down low to get the nice flowers in and the ocean, docks, and the bridge...

....July is dressed up and playing her tune....

(Seals and Crofts)

Day 213/365 - baa baa black sheep have you any wool....

I walk by this everytime I go into the house, I'm not sure why I even hung it there, it's some country placard made of slate and depicts as you can see some sheep in front of a colonial style house, is this American or something , it's got a flag...

point and click

....yes sir, yes sir, three bags full....

Day 212/365 - Sleep with one eye open....

I wasn't going to use this picture but the other pics I had this day were really really not anything worth posting. He always freaks me out when he sleeps with his eyes open a little bit, so peaceful though...

In a way the sunlight peering over the back created a kind of heavenly look to the picture you can see the rainbow effect and sun flare just above his head, how precious...

...gripping your pillow tight....

(Metallica)

Day 211/365- You could be my flamingo 'Cause pink - it's the new kinda of lingo...

Went to the zoo a few weekends ago to show Brendon what he missed the first time he was there. He was awake this time but was more interested in looking at the people than the animals. Well It was the first sunny day in a while so we had a good day albeit a bit hot in places there. Thank goodness for the Iced Lemonade...

I like the shadows in this picture, I can never get those flamingoes to pose just right....

....As pink as the sheets that we lay on
'Cause Pink - it's my favorite crayon....

(Aerosmith)

Day 210/365 - You said it, I didn't. Tom: Hey, you little pipsqueak, I oughtta....- Hey! How come you never spoke before?

Well thought I'd try my hand at another inanimate object and see what I came up with. This is a toy picked up a few years back of Tom and Jerry , Tom reaching into Jerry's house and getting his hand slammed. I decided just to include this side of the scene however.

Nice colors a little dark and grainy but I was using a hanging incandescent light only.

...I didn't have anything I wanted to say that I thought you'd understand, and there still isn't! ...
(Tom and Jerry the Movie)
